Four regions left without power due to attacks on energy infrastructure

As of the morning of March 6, Russian attacks have left residents in four regions without power; electricity consumption has increased.

According to Ukrinform, NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.

"Due to enemy attacks on energy infrastructure, as of this morning, users in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions are without power. Wherever security conditions allow, emergency repair work has already begun. Energy companies are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible," the statement said.

Due to the consequences of previous massive attacks on the energy sector, some regions are implementing power restriction schedules for industry and hourly power outage schedules for other user categories.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Friday, electricity consumption was 3.6% higher than the previous day. This is due to cloudy weather over most of Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of residential solar power plants.

“In regions where hourly power cuts are currently being enforced, there is still a need for energy saving. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to nighttime after 10 p.m.,” Ukrenergo said.

As reported, NPC Ukrenergo did not receive any official documents from the Slovak transmission system operator SEPS regarding its intention to terminate the existing bilateral agreement on emergency assistance.
