Naftogaz imports 4.4 bcm of gas since May
Since May 2025, Naftogaz Group has imported around 4.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas to prepare for the heating season, with total imports expected to exceed 5 billion cubic meters by year‑end.
This was announced by Naftogaz Group Chief Commercial Officer Sergii Fedorenko at a briefing at Ukrinform.
“Since May, we have imported about 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas, and by year‑end imports will exceed 5 billion cubic meters,” Fedorenko said.
He noted that imports in November amounted to more than 500 million cubic meters, while in December daily import volumes rose to 26 million cubic meters, compared with 21 million cubic meters in November.
Fedorenko added that currently about 15–20% of gas imports are provided by private companies, as domestic market prices for natural gas are effectively aligned with European levels.
As reported, in November, Naftogaz Group and Polish energy company ORLEN signed an agreement to finalize arrangements for the supply of 300 million cubic meters of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2026.
