Russia launches another attack on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure

During the night of October 28, a new wave of Russian missile strikes damaged gas production facilities operated by Naftogaz Group in the Poltava region.

The statement was made by Sergii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, during a briefing at Ukrinform.

“There were six large-scale attacks in October alone. Last night was the seventh. Production facilities in the Poltava region were hit,” Koretskyi stated.

He emphasized that gas industry teams will make every effort to restore the damaged infrastructure as quickly as possible.

According to Koretskyi, the October attacks have led to losses in domestic gas production. In response, Naftogaz has developed a plan to secure additional imports of natural gas.

As previously reported, the sixth large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure occurred on the night of October 16.
