As a result of massive enemy attacks tonight in the Poltava and Sumy regions, energy facilities and railway infrastructure have been hit.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba.

According to him, a locomotive depot, power supply facilities, and traction substations were hit in Poltava. Administrative and storage facilities and rolling stock were damaged. Fires broke out, which were extinguished by rescuers.

“No casualties,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.

Due to the attack, trains between Kharkiv and Lviv, Lviv and Kharkiv, and Kramatorsk and Lviv were temporarily delayed, but are now all running.

As Kuleba noted, the strikes damaged an energy facility, leaving more than a thousand households in Poltava and surrounding settlements without power.

The situation is similar in Sumy, where damage to residential buildings and power outages in part of the city have been reported.

According to the deputy prime minister, emergency response teams are working on the ground. Specialists are surveying the area, restoring power supplies, and helping people.

Rail traffic has stabilized, and critical infrastructure is gradually returning to operation, he added.

"The enemy's goal is obvious—Russia is trying to use cold and darkness as weapons. The enemy wants to disrupt the heating season and paralyze the work of Ukrzaliznytsia, which remains a critical artery of the country," the deputy prime minister emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, at 6 p.m. on October 6, the Russians attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 152 drones. Air defense forces destroyed 88 of the 152 Russian drones.
