Orest Mandzii appointed head of Ukraine's State Customs Service
The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Orest Mandzii as head of Ukraine's State Customs Service.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to her, a respective motion following an open competition was made by Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko.
"We expect the new head to continue the reform of the customs service, to build a modern, transparent and efficient customs system that works to ensure the country's financial stability. We count on consistent implementation of these changes and further strengthening of the institutional capacity of the customs service," the statement reads.
As reported, the finalists of the competition for the position of head of the State Customs Service were Ruslan Damentsov and Orest Mandzii.
The Cabinet of Ministers launched the open competition process for the position on August 4, 2025.
The selection commission received 42 application packages from candidates wishing to take part in the competition, and 38 were admitted.
After several stages of testing, 15 candidates remained and were allowed to proceed to final interviews.
In parallel with testing, each participant underwent a thorough integrity assessment.
The selection of the head of the State Customs Service through a transparent competition is a key requirement of international partners and part of Ukraine's customs reform process.
