Ukraine gets $1.7B grant from U.S.

The United States has transferred another $1.7 billion in grant assistance to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"1.7 billion dollars of grant aid came to the Ukrainian budget from the Trust Fund of the World Bank and the U.S. Agency for International Development. This is the second US grant in the last two weeks, the total amount of aid is to 3 billion dollars," the report said.

Shmyhal thanked the United States and President Joe Biden for incredible support.

On July 9, at a government meeting, a draft agreement was approved to provide Ukraine with a $1.7 billion grant from the Single Donor Trust Fund, created by the IBRD, the International Development Association and USAID. The grant is transferred on a free, non-refundable basis to Ukraine's state budget. The funds will be used to cover the costs of the state budget for the payment of medical services under the medical guarantees program.
