Ukraine is 96th in global prosperity ranking

Ukraine took the 96th place in the latest Legatum Prosperity Index.

The Legatum Institute, a London-based think-tank, released its 2019 Prosperity Index on November 25.

”Ukraine is 96th in the overall Prosperity Index rankings. Since 2009, Ukraine has moved down the rankings table by 10 places,” reads the report.

At the same time, compared with the previous year, Ukraine has climbed three positions (from the 99th place).

Denmark tops the ranking. It is followed by Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, and Finland. The United States took the 18th place.

South Sudan, Yemen, and the Central African Republic end the list.

The index reveals that global prosperity is at its highest ever level, with 148 out of 167 countries experiencing higher levels of prosperity than 10 year ago.

The annual ranking Legatum Prosperity Index is based on a variety of factors including wealth, economic growth, education, health, personal well-being, and quality of life.
