Sweden has increased its total contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to EUR 203.08 million by transferring an additional EUR 63.8 million.
That is according to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
"The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has transferred EUR 63.82 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The total volume of Sida's contributions to the Fund now amounts to EUR 203.08 million. Of this amount, EUR 44.68 million was allocated to a separate special account dedicated to ensuring nuclear safety," the statement said.
The funds already provided by Sida were used to procure equipment for Ukrenergo and for distribution system operators in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions. In addition, Sweden helped finance a project to develop distributed generation in one of Ukraine's most energy-deficient regions.
As of December 25, 2025, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund had received more than EUR 1.52 billion in grant funding, including EUR 258 million in new contributions made in December alone.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received nearly 2,000 shipments of equipment for energy workers. This humanitarian assistance has been provided by 38 partner countries.
