Two large Zaporizhzhia plants cut off power amid arrears for electricity

For UAH millions in unpaid bills, the Zaporizhzhia power company has cut off power to two companies that are large regional taxpayers - "Zaporizhzhia Titanium-Magnesium Plant" and "Semiconductor Factory."

Debt for consumed power at "Zaporizhzhia Titanium-Magnesium Plant" has begun to accumulate last year. These underpayments have been chronic: every month the plant consumes at an average for about UAH 40 million, and is now its arrears grew to UAH 193 million in early February, said acting sales director Roman Drany.

According to him, power generating company can’t put residents of the Zaporizhzhia region at risk in this situation, and decided to limit power supply to Zaporizhzhia Titanium-Magnesium Plant LLC to the level of ecological safety.

Also, power supply has been restricted to "Semiconductor Factory" because of arrears. The debt of the factory for the consumed electricity totals UAH 1.56 million.
