Occupiers violate ceasefire 72 times in JFO area, one Ukrainian soldier killed

Since the beginning of the day, February 22, Russian-occupation forces violated the ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine 72 times, including 53 attacks with the use of weapons banned under the Minsk agreements.

"The enemy used multiple rocket launchers, 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. As a result of enemy shelling, one serviceman was wounded, five more sustained combat injuries. The soldiers were taken to a medical facility. Their health is satisfactory. Another Ukrainian defender received a wound incompatible with life,” the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.

As Ukrinform reported, over the past day, on February 21, the JFO press service reported 84 ceasefire violations on the part of the Russian-controlled forces in eastern Ukraine, including 64 attacked with the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
