In Chernivtsi region, man stabbed two TCR soldiers in the neck

In the Chernivtsi region, a man was detained after stabbing two territorial center of recruitment and social support servicemen in the neck.

According to Ukrinform, the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Facebook.

“Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Dnister District Prosecutor's Office, a 29-year-old resident has been notified of suspicion of attempted murder of military personnel and hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 15, subparagraphs 1 and 8 of Part 2 of Article 115, and Part 3 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

According to the investigation, on April 20, near the village of Strumok in the Dnister district of Chernivtsi region, a conflict arose between the man and two military personnel from the district territorial center of recruitment and social support while he was being transported to the conscription center. During the confliclt, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed both victims in the neck.

In addition, after the attack, the man smashed the TCR’s official vehicle and struck one of the soldiers in the forearm with a wrench.

The attacker was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and taken into custody.

The two servicemen received timely medical assistance; their lives are currently not in danger.

The investigation is ongoing.

As previously reported, unknown individuals broke into the Yavoriv TCR and attacked the security guards.
