The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian agent in the Donetsk region who coordinated airstrikes on Kramatorsk.

According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this.

It has been established that the suspect was tracking the locations of Ukrainian Defense Forces personnel and equipment, which the enemy planned to strike with various types of weapons, including FAB-1500 aerial bombs with winged modules.

The agent was also tasked with identifying and transmitting to the FSB of the Russian Federation the coordinates of logistics depots containing weapons, ammunition, and supplies for Ukrainian troops.

SSU officers gradually documented the suspect’s intelligence activities and detained him.

According to the case file, the hostile mission was carried out by a local unemployed man recruited by the FSB. He came to the attention of the Russian special services in Telegram chat rooms in October 2025, seeking easy money.

To gather intelligence, the perpetrator surveyed the area and, upon discovering military facilities, marked their locations on Google Maps and saved corresponding screenshots on his smartphone.

In addition, the agent covertly elicited information about the Donetsk region defenders from his acquaintances during casual conversations.

During a search of the detainee’s residence, a mobile phone containing evidence of his work for the enemy was seized.
