Man opens fire during conflict in Frankivsk

In Ivano-Frankivsk, law enforcement officers detained a local resident who fired shots from a starter pistol during a conflict with a group of men.

According to Ukrinform, the Ivano-Frankivsk region police reported this on Facebook.

“On March 8, at 7:01 p.m., the 102 hotline received a report that an unknown person had fired shots on Sorokhteia Street in Ivano-Frankivsk, near a grocery store,” the report said.

An investigative team and patrol officers immediately went to the scene.

While checking the information, the police established that a conflict had arisen between a group of men. During a verbal altercation, one of the participants, a local resident born in 1981, who was intoxicated, fired three shots from a starter pistol.

Law enforcement officers quickly detained the man and took him to the Ivano-Frankivsk District Police Department.

All circumstances of the incident are being established.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 8, a shooting occurred between two men in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv, and one was hospitalized with injuries.
