War update: 249 combat engagements on front line over past day
On June 1, 249 combat clashes between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders were recorded at the front.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook in a situation update as of 08:00 on June 2.
The enemy carried out 91 airstrikes, dropping 317 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians used 9,007 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,342 shellings, including 59 from multiple launch rocket systems.
Air Force, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 13 areas where enemy manpower was concentrated, as well as one other important Russian target.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, there were four clashes. The Russian army carried out six airstrikes using 18 guided bombs and conducted 76 shellings, including eight from MLRS.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy attacked 13 times near Veterynarne, Starytsia, Prylipka, Lyman, Synelnykove, Vovchanski Khutory, and Zybyne.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped five enemy attempts to advance near Kurylivka, Bohuslavka, and toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
In the Lyman direction, the Russians tried 10 times to break through the defenses near Kopanky, Novomykhailivka, Drobysheve, Zarichne, Lyman, Ozerne, and Yampil.
In the Sloviansk direction, the invaders stormed 10 times near Zakitne, Kalenyky, Riznykivka, and toward Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to push Ukrainian defenders out of positions in the area of Nykyforivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russians carried out 10 attacks near Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Mykolaipillia, Kucheriv Yar, and Nove Shakhove.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 56 assault actions by the Russian army in the areas of Dorozhne, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Udachne, Muravka, Horikhove, and toward Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Bilytske, and Serhiivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Verbove and Voskresenka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the invaders carried out 35 attacks in the areas of Rybne, Zlahoda, Dobropillia, Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, and toward Kosivtseve, Rizvdnianka, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Verkhnia Tersa.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped two Russian assault actions toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were detected.
As Ukrinform reported, total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through June 2, 2026, amount to about 1,366,910 personnel.
