Russian massive attack on Kyiv leaves four killed, 51 injured, damage and fires in seven districts reported - Klitschko
Four people were killed and 51 injured as a result of the mass attack on Kyiv, with damage and fires reported in seven districts of the capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"At present, four people are known to have been killed in the capital," the post said.
As of 06:20 on June 2, 51 injured people were known, including 3 children. Thirty-five people were hospitalized, while others received assistance on site and as outpatients.
As a result of the enemy's mass attack on the capital, damage was recorded in various districts of the city.
In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out at a gas station as a result of the fall of what was likely UAV debris.
In the Obolonskyi district, debris fell in open areas - both near kindergartens. A fire also broke out at an unfinished construction site.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris caused a fire in a non-residential three-story building, as well as partial, minor damage to the facade and roof of a nine-story residential building. Another strike of debris on a 24-story residential building caused a fire on the 4th-5th floors. Debris also caused fires in two more non-residential premises in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris caused a fire on the first floor of a five-story residential building, as well as a fire on the grounds of non-residential development.
In the Podilskyi district, preliminarily as a result of a second strike by a missile on a nine-story residential building, a partial collapse of structures occurred. Also, according to preliminary information, debris fell onto the roof of another nine-story residential building, causing a fire on the roof and damage to window glazing.
Also in the Podilskyi district, as a result of debris from a likely UAV, a fire broke out on the grounds of non-residential development and spread to other non-residential buildings. In an open area of one municipal enterprise, debris damaged several cars and a warehouse.
In the Holosiivskyi district, the second and third floors of a clinic were destroyed. In an open area, several cars caught fire as a result of falling debris. Debris also fell in open areas.
In the Solomianskyi district, debris hit the upper floors of a 15-story residential building, and a fire broke out in a 24-story building on the 7th-8th floors. As a result of falling debris, a building on the grounds of non-residential development caught fire. According to preliminary information, fires caused by falling debris were also recorded in two private houses.
All emergency services are working at the scene and are eliminating the consequences of the attack, the mayor added.
As Ukrinform reported, Russians attacked Kyiv with missiles overnight, and a series of powerful explosions were heard in the capital.
