War update: 53 combat engagements on front line since morning, Pokrovsk direction remains most active
Since the start of the day, the Russian army has attacked the positions of Ukraine’s defenders 53 times, with the heaviest pressure in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 on Monday, April 13, according to Ukrinform.
Russian troops shelled the settlements of Tovstodubove, Novoivanivka, Bachivsk, Iskryskivshchyna, Ryzhivka, and Budky in the Sumy region. Novoivanivka was also struck by air attacks.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, one combat engagement took place toward Taratutyne. In this sector, Russian forces dropped four guided aerial bombs and carried out 34 shelling attacks on settlements and positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, including three strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian troops launched two assaults on Ukrainian positions near Zybyne and Vovchansk. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted twice to improve their positions toward Novoplatonivka and Novoosynove. One battle is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops carried out five assaults near Kolodiazi, Dibrova, and Lyman. Four engagements are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched one attack near Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack near Tykhonivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully stopped 11 enemy attempts to advance near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops made 16 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Udachne, Zapovidne, Bilytske, Hryshyne, and Muravka. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, five combat engagements took place near Oleksandrohrad, Zelenyi Hai, Sichneve, Vorone, and Novohryhorivka.
Russian aviation carried out strikes near Omelnyk, Yasna Poliana, and Zarichne.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks near Zaliznychne, Hirske, and Huliaipole.
Enemy aircraft also struck areas near Vozdvyzhivka, Novomykolaivka, Yehorivka, Charivne, Dolynka, and Kopani.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces launched one attack near Stepnohirsk and also carried out airstrikes near Yasna Polyana, Zarichne, and Omelnyk.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Russian troops conducted three unsuccessful assault attempts toward the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.
In other sectors, the situation remains largely unchanged, with no enemy attempts to advance.
Ukrainian forces continue to wear down Russian troops along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
As previously reported, Russian forces are trying to intensify their offensive in the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
