War update: Russian forces launch 143 attacks, fiercest clashes are in Pokrovsk sector
Since the start of the day, the Russian army has attacked Ukrainian defensive positions 143 times. The enemy exerts the most pressure in the Pokrovsk sector and is showing increased activity in the Huliaipole, Kostiantynivka, and Oleksandrivka sectors.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing an update as of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.
Russian forces today struck Zoria in the Chernihiv region, as well as Korenok, Bachivsk, Ulanove, Iskryskivshchyna, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Kozache, Zhuravka, Atynske, Tovstodubove, Luzhky, Neskuchne, Vilna Sloboda, Malushyne, Yastrubshchyna, Shalyhyne, Vovkivka, Stara Huta, and Ochkyne in the Sumy region. Airstrikes were carried out on Bublykove and Vilna Sloboda.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, four combat engagements have been recorded since the start of the day. In this sector of the front, the Russians have already shelled settlements and positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 40 times, including twice with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the invaders have attempted five times to improve their position in the areas of Starytsia, Prylipka, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Chuhunivka. One of their attacks is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops carried out six assaults in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attempts to advance toward Novoselivka, Stavky, and Drobysheve. One of the invaders’ assaults is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Russian Federation’s army twice attempted to advance on the defenders’ positions toward Zakitne and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One of its assaults is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russians attempted to advance three times toward Nykyforivka, Kucheriv Yar, and Predtechyne.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy launched 23 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Sofiivka, Kleban-Byk, Ivanopil, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Berestok, Yablunivka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the invaders attempted 46 times to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Bilytske, Nove Shakhove, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, Dachne, and Filiia. Three enemy attacks are ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Russian army launched 16 attacks toward Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrohrad, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Verbove, and Zlahoda. Three of its assaults are ongoing.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Russians carried out 27 attacks toward the positions of the Defense Forces in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Hirke, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, and Myrne. Four enemy assaults are ongoing.
The invaders carried out airstrikes on the areas of Vozdvizhivka, Novosoloshyne, Dolynka, Kopani, Shyroke, and Huliaipilske.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces are conducting ten assault operations in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Stepove. Enemy aircraft carried out strikes in the Komyshuvakha area.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the Russians attempted to attack twice in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge.
There have been no significant changes in other sections of the front. No enemy advances have been recorded.
The Ukrainian troops are wearing down the invaders along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russians are conducting assault operations on several fronts simultaneously in the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
