Drones attack aircraft repair plant in Staraya Russa

In the city of Staraya Russa in Russia’s Novgorod region, drones attacked the JSC 123 ARZ aircraft repair plant.

According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel Astra reported this, citing local public groups.

According to preliminary data, a strike was recorded in the plant’s first workshop. It is claimed that about seven UAVs were shot down. Regional authorities have not yet commented on this information.

JSC 123 ARZ claims to be “the leader in maintenance services for military and civil transport aircraft in Russia.” The plant performs a full cycle of aircraft repairs, including all systems and engines, and is also a key contractor for the Russian Federation’s state defense procurement.

In total, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged destruction of 206 drones overnight in various regions, according to the BBC Russian Service.

The largest number of drones—62—were reportedly shot down over the Bryansk region. Authorities reported shooting down 43 UAVs over the Moscow region, 28 over the Krasnodar region, and 18 over the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Air defense operations were also reported in the Smolensk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Rostov, Leningrad, and Astrakhan regions, as well as over the Sea of Azov and the Republic of Adygea. This morning, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the continuation of attacks on the Krasnodar, Kostroma, and Smolensk regions.

Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region, reported that 15 drones had been shot down over the region and the Gulf of Finland. Previously, port facilities and oil refineries in the region had been targeted.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 16, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the city of Labinsk, Krasnodar region, Russia, as a result of a UAV attack.
