Russian forces strike Kharkiv suburb, fires break out

On the afternoon of May 5, Russian forces struck the Malodanylivka community on the outskirts of Kharkiv.

Oleksandr Hololobov, head of the community, announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Another shelling attack in the village of Cherkaska Lozova. As a result of the enemy strike, a fire broke out. A summer house, outbuildings, and yard structures were destroyed by the flames," the statement said.

No casualties were reported.

Shortly afterward, Hololobov reported another strike, again causing a fire.

As of 15:45, shelling was ongoing, with a series of explosions heard, he added.

On May 4, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and its suburbs with drones, injuring three people.
