Partners to provide Ukraine with another $35B in defense aid

Ukraine's partners in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group have committed to providing $35 billion in new military assistance to Ukraine.

UK Defence Secretary John Healey stated this at a press conference following the Contact Group meeting in Brussels, Ukrinform's correspondent reports.

Healey said that aggression was intensifying, adding that Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities were continuing and Russia was targeting Ukrainian civilians, not just the front line.

He stressed that the mission of the Contact Group remains in supporting Ukraine in the fight now and to help secure peace tomorrow.

Healey said that the partners were starting what he described as a pivotal year for Ukraine with major commitments, adding that the Contact Group had pledged a total of $35 billion in new military assistance.

He emphasized that partners would increase military aid to Ukraine and step up pressure on Russia.

He concluded by saying that they wanted to make 2026 the year the war ended and peace was secured.

As Ukrinform reported, John Healey stated that Ukraine's resistance must be reinforced by the determination of its partners and substantial new commitments to Ukraine for 2026.
