Defense Forces eliminate Russian infantry who penetrated eastern outskirts of Hryshyne

Ukrainian defenders eliminated a group of Russian invaders who managed to break through to the eastern outskirts of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region.

This was reported on Facebook by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

Russian troops managed to get into Hryshyne after a failed mechanized assault in this direction last week.

Some of the invaders tried to gain a foothold on the eastern outskirts of the village and use the buildings to get behind Ukrainian units.

The enemy was detected in time thanks to the cooperation of the 155th Mechanized Brigade with other adjacent units within the 7th Corps' area of control.

The brigade command decided to deploy a Leopard 2 tank crew.

“The tank struck the enemy, who was hiding in residential buildings and farm structures. The remnants of the enemy infantry, who broke through after the assault, were eliminated,” the corps reported.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops accelerated their advance on Hryshyne because they were unable to implement their plan using infiltration tactics. The breakthrough attempt was partially successful.
