1,300 emergency shelters set up in Kyiv

There are currently 1,300 invincibility points (emergency shelters) operating in Kyiv, and two additional large heating centers, each with an area of 700 square meters, are being set up.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said on the air of the United News Telemarathon that the State Emergency Service's warming centers are located between residential buildings in Kyiv's microdistricts, with 91 such centers currently in operation.

“We are additionally deploying two more large centers with an area of 700 square meters each,” he said.

At the warming centers, people can warm up, get hot drinks, charge their gadgets, and use communication services.

As the minister emphasized, decisions on the deployment of additional warming stations will be made promptly, depending on the number of people and actual needs on the ground. In particular, tents and modular pneumatic structures have already been prepared in the districts.

“Work is ongoing around the clock and will continue until the situation stabilizes,” Klymenko stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, on behalf of the government, has prepared 41 kitchens in Kyiv to provide hot meals to people living in homes without a gas supply.
