Czech volunteer organizations to send dozens of generators to Ukraine

The Czech charity organization "Memory of the Nation" has thanked concerned Czech citizens who helped raise funds for generators for Ukrainian cities suffering from Russia's terrorist attacks on energy infrastructure.

The organization wrote about this on the social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.

"Thank you to everyone who, after watching reports about civilians freezing in Ukraine, turned their anger into financial support. The first truck, which we can load with 49 generators of various capacities – from small 3 kW units to one massive 600 kW generator (Petbow CD563S) capable of supplying power to an entire hospital – will depart in the first half of the week," the post reads.

Thanks to public donations, which are currently coming into the organization's account in the millions of crowns, another truck will be sent by the end of the week.

The aid will be directed mainly to the Kharkiv region, with hospitals as the top priority.

Last week, 36 generators were shipped, including to Poltava, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv.

The team also expressed gratitude to the Czech generator supplier Hahn & Sohn for its flexibility. Since the start of the war, the company has sent more than 480 generators to Ukraine at discounted prices.

As Ukrinform previously reported, following another wave of Russian bombardments, including on January 24, Ukraine appealed for urgent assistance in addressing the energy situation.

Other charities are also raising funds for generators. In particular, the Czech initiative "Gift for Putin" ("Darek pro Putina") collected 80 million crowns in two days. These funds are being transferred to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, which has purchased generators.
