Fighters of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade used FPV drones to strike two Russian D-30 howitzers near Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region.
The brigade announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Thanks to the coordinated actions of reconnaissance units and FPV pilots, the Russians will no longer be able to provide artillery cover for the infantry assaulting Myrnohrad," the statement said.
According to the military, the cost of one operational howitzer is about $300,000.
Earlier reports said that Ukrainian forces controlled the northern part of Myrnohrad and were working to promptly detect and destroy combat equipment that Russian troops are trying to amass for an assault on the city.
