Russians shoot three captured Ukrainian defenders in Huliaypole area
Law enforcement agencies have launched a pre-trial investigation into the shooting of three Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
It has been preliminarily established that on December 20, Russian invaders shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Huliaypole direction. Such actions are a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualify as a serious international crime.
Law enforcement agencies have opened proceedings under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.
Initial investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement officers are investigating, in particular, all the circumstances of the war crime.
