Art museum in Kharkiv catches fire after shelling; infant injured

Russians struck the Kharkiv Art Museum with a drone—rescue workers are putting out the fire. According to the latest reports, a one-month-old infant was injured.

This was reported on Telegram by Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and Mayor Ihor Terekhov, according to Ukrinform.

“Firefighters are dealing with the aftermath of an enemy drone strike on a cultural facility in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. Emergency medical teams are on standby at the site of the strike,” the official's post reads.

According to him, no reports of casualties have been received so far.

Syniehubov once again emphasized the importance of staying in safe places during Russian shelling.

Later, the Kharkiv City Council reported on Telegram that a fire had broken out at the city’s art museum.

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, no one was injured in the strike, but several people sought medical attention due to acute stress reactions. Meanwhile, specialists from the Department of Emergency Situations, together with rescue workers, were moving paintings from the museum to a shelter to safeguard the exhibits.

Later, Syniehubov reported that a one-month-old infant had been injured due to Russian shelling of the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.

“According to preliminary information, a one-month-old baby was injured as a result of the enemy attack in the Kyivskyi district,” the official said in a statement.

He also reported that three other women received medical assistance at the scene.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the afternoon of June 14, the invaders struck two districts of Kharkiv with drones.
