One killed, five injured in Russian drone strike on Mykolaiv apartment building

A Russian drone strike hit a five-story residential building in Mykolaiv, killing one person and injuring five others.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported this via Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"As a result of the overnight UAV attack, a five-story residential building was struck. A fire broke out, covering an area of 50 square meters," the statement read.

As of 06:00, rescuers had recovered the body of a deceased man born in 1948. Five people were injured, including a teenager, according to emergency services.

Two floors of the building were destroyed, with the others sustaining damage. Two women were rescued from the rubble. One was hospitalized in serious condition, while psychologists are working with the other.

A total of 210 residents were evacuated.

Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, also commented on the situation.

"It has been confirmed that a 77-year-old man died in last night's attack on Mykolaiv. Five people were injured, including a 17-year-old boy who is in serious condition. Two women were hospitalized and are also in grave condition. Two others received on-site medical assistance," he wrote on Telegram.

Russian forces launched another combined overnight attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles.
