War update: 109 combat clashes on frontline
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 109 combat clashes between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops.
According to General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cited by Ukrinform, as of 22:00 on Thursday, April 30, the enemy carried out 51 airstrikes and dropped 166 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian forces used 5,980 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,201 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian positions.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks, while Russian troops carried out 64 shellings, including 10 using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy launched five assaults near Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Okhrimivka; three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, five attacks were recorded toward Kurylivka, Kindrashivka, and Novoplatonivka, with one clash ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five attempts to advance near Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Dibrova; one battle continues.
In the Sloviansk direction, two assaults were repelled near Zakytne and Yampil, with one clash ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, no active combat actions were recorded.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 15 assaults near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopillia.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces carried out 20 attacks near Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Muravka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, and Molodetske; one clash is ongoing.
Preliminary data indicate that on this axis alone, 66 Russian troops were killed and 19 wounded. Ukrainian forces destroyed eight vehicles and three pieces of special equipment, damaged artillery systems and vehicles, eliminated a UAV control point, and destroyed 20 infantry shelters. A total of 241 drones were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces attempted twice to improve their positions near Verbove and Zlahoda.
In the Huliaipole direction, nine attacks were recorded near Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Tsvitkove, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipilske, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, one attack occurred toward Pavlivka, along with airstrikes near Tavriiske and Komyshuvakha.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilogrudyi Island.
No significant changes were reported on other directions.
As Ukrinform reported, in the Zaporizhzhia direction Russian forces are attempting to pass through a "kill zone" up to 10 km long in order to reach forward positions and carry out assault operations.
