Number of hostilities decreases in Pokrovsk sector - military

The Pokrovsk sector has seen a minimal number of clashes compared to previous months.

Currently, the Russian army is more active in other areas, such as Toretsk and Novopavlivka. The narrative that Russia is “capable of taking what it wants” is weakening. Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, said this on television, Ukrinform reports.

“In the Pokrovsk sector, the number of combat engagements dropped to a minimum compared to the previous ones. Over the previous two months, this was the most active area, and on some days it could be equal to the entire front combined,” informed Trehubov.

According to him, the fact that the Russian army has significantly reduced its activity, retreated in some areas, and reduced the number of clashes is evidence that the enemy's “big offensive” and attempts to capture Pokrovsk “were not particularly successful.”

Trehubov noted that the Russian army suffered heavy losses in manpower and equipment in the area, “in fact, it lost a small European army.”

“As of now, the big Russian operation has failed. This does not mean that they will not try to resume it, but for now they are more active in other areas, such as Toretsk or Novopavlivsk,” the spokesman said.

At the same time, he emphasized that such a victory of the Ukrainian army in the area is very timely, as it proved that “Ukrainians are able to fight when many stakeholders, including foreign media, are interested in saying the opposite.”

“The narrative that Russia is able to take what it wants is weakening,” the speaker emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops have fought 84 times since the beginning of the day, with fighting still ongoing in eight frontline areas, most intensely in Toretsk and Novopavlivske.
