Vovchansk subjected to mortar fire, bombing

In Kharkiv region, the Russian invasion army shelled Vovchansk in the early hours of Sunday, employing mortars and dropping an aerial bomb.

That’s according to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the regional military administration, Ukrinform reports.

Nearly 15 settlements across the region were hit by artillery and mortars, including Udy of the Bohodukhiv district, Okhrymivka and Zemlianka of Chuhuiv district, Khatne, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove of Kupiansk district.

On January 21, around 02:00, the enemy shelled the village of Tyshchenivka, Kupiansk district. A gas main and a household were affected.

No casualties were reported.

At around 03:30, the invaders shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv district, using mortars, and at 04:15 they hit the city with an anti-tank missile. A number of households sustained damaged but no casualties were confirmed.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 21 Russian assaults near Synkivka and Petropavlivka, Kupiansk district.

According to Syniehubov, during the day in Kharkiv region, sappers cleared 3.9 hectares of mined areas and neutralized 191 explosive objects. The demining effort is underway.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on January 20, Russian artillery shelled Kupiansk, damaging a residential building.
