Zelensky says decisions made with Italian partners on protection of Ukrainian skies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that decisions have been made with Italian partners regarding the protection of the Ukrainian skies.

He said this at a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Saturday, May 13, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today we discussed our cooperation, particularly security and military cooperation. There are very important decisions regarding the protection of our sky," Zelensky said.

In general, the president called the negotiations with Meloni "a rather fruitful dialogue."

Zelensky also said that in just seven hours last night, Ukraine's defense forces shot down 17 Iranian-made Shahed attack drones, which, he said, Russia uses to destroy children, schools, and infrastructure.

Zelensky noted that there were also hits by kamikaze drones, in which people were killed.
