Ukrainian defenders destroy all 35 Shahed drones launched by enemy last night

Russian aggressors last night attacked Ukraine with 35 Iranian-made kamikaze drones, with Ukrainian defenders destroying all of the targets.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On the night of May 8, 2023, the enemy again attacked Ukraine, using Iranian-made Shahed attack UAVs. Our defenders destroyed 35 out of 35 drones," the post read.

The General Staff added that continuing its tactics of terror, Russia launched 16 missile strikes in the past day, particularly in the Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. In addition, Ukraine also recorded 61 enemy airstrikes and 52 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, there are dead and injured civilians, an apartment block, private homes and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

"The probability of further Russian missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high," the General Staff warned.
