Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Ryazan region, along with a number of other key enemy targets, yesterday and during the night of May 15.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the statement, a large-scale fire broke out at the Ryazan Oil Refinery following the strike.

The refinery is one of the largest oil-processing enterprises in Russia, capable of refining about 17 million tons of oil annually. The gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel produced there are used to support the needs of the Russian occupation forces.

In addition to the refinery, Ukrainian defenders struck:

  • a small Russian missile ship and a minesweeper at the Kaspiysk naval base;
  • enemy ammunition depots near Yepifanivka and Rovenky in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region;
  • a Russian military logistics warehouse in the temporarily occupied village of Raihorodka in the Luhansk region;
  • a warehouse containing Russian electronic warfare equipment in the temporarily occupied village of Dmytrivka in the Donetsk region;
  • an enemy fuel and lubricants depot in occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region.

Two more targets were hit as a result of strikes by the Defense Forces on a coastal technical reconnaissance post of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in Mariupol. These included an MR-232 Bussol-S radar station and an optical-electronic module.
