Zelensky proposes extending martial law and general mobilization

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada two draft laws on the approval of his decrees to extend the terms of martial law and general mobilization in the country.

The relevant documents are registered under numbers 8419 and 8420, Ukrinform reports.

Thus, according to explanatory notes to the documents, the head of state proposes extending the terms of martial law and general mobilization from February 19, 2023, for another 90 days.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On the same day, martial law was imposed in the country and general mobilization was announced - until March 26, 2022. Subsequently, the terms of martial law and general mobilization were extended by the Ukrainian parliament - until April 25, 2022, May 25, 2022, August 23, 2022, November 21, 2022, and February 19, 2023.
