The protection of critical infrastructure facilities in the Northern operational zone has been strengthened.

This was stated by Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces, in the context of measures to prevent any attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to seize critical infrastructure facilities, Ukrinform reports with reference to the JF press service.

"Currently, the protection and defenses of the country’s critical infrastructure facilities in the Northern operational zone has been strengthened. To repulse any possible penetration by enemy armed military groups into the territory of Ukraine, fire control points have been set up on the likely routes of advance, as well as interaction channels among units of all Defense Forces involved," said Naiev.

According to the Commander, reinforced border patrols regularly deploy in the relevant areas of responsibility, while UAVs are employed to monitor the surrounding territory. Constant monitoring of the air space is carried out by all air defense capabilities available.

"In addition, measures are being taken for an additional reinforcement and buildup of defense positions in the area," the JF Commander emphasized.

As reported, 19 mobile air defense teams based on SUVs have been created in the northern parts of Ukraine to protect critical infrastructure facilities from missile and drone strikes.
