Russian aircraft arrive in Belarus for 'joint exercises'

The Belarusian Defense Ministry reported the arrival on Sunday of the "aviation component" of the military and space forces of the Russian armed forces to conduct joint flight and tactical exercises from January 16 to February 1.

That's according to the ministry's Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

According to the report, the exercises will take place as part of the so-called joint regional grouping of troops (forces). During the flight and tactical exercises, all airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus will be involved.

On January 5, the Belarusian Defense Ministry first announced the holding of joint flight and tactical exercises with Russia without specifying any dates and details.
