There is no place that is not covered with blood in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, and only a few civilians continue to live in the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a post on the messaging app Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Last year, 70,000 people lived there. Now only a few civilians are left there. There is no place that is not covered with blood. There is no hour when the terrible roar of artillery does not sound. Still, Bakhmut stands. Our defense forces stand. Ukrainian Donbas stands," Zelensky said.

He also published photos of the city destroyed by the Russians.
