Zelensky hands U.S. congressmen battle flag from front line as symbol of joint victory

President of Ukraine Zelenskyy, during his U.S. visit handed over to Congress during his address to both chambers a battle flag from the front line, which should become a symbol of the joint victory of Ukraine, the U.S. and the entire free world.

"When I was in Bakhmut yesterday, our heroes gave me the flag. The battle flag. The flag of those who defend Ukraine, Europe, and the world at the cost of their lives,” he said. “They asked me to bring this flag to you, to the U.S. Congress, to the members of the House of Representatives and senators, whose decisions can save millions of people.”

According to Zelensky, this "flag is a symbol of our victory".

“We stand, we fight and we will win. Because we are united. Ukraine, America, and the entire free world," the president added.

Zelensky proceeded to present the flag to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

As reported, Zelensky is in the USA on an official visit. On Wednesday, he held talks with U.S. President Joe Biden and addressed both chambers of Congress.
