Russians have already killed 449 children in Ukraine

A total of 449 children have been killed and 859 more have been injured as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

"As of the morning of December 16, 2022, more than 1,308 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 449 children were killed and more than 859 children received injuries of various degrees of severity," the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.

These numbers are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region – 428, Kharkiv region – 267, Kyiv region – 117, Mykolaiv region – 80, Zaporizhzhia region – 78, Kherson region – 74, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 65, Dnipropetrovsk region – 34.

It became known about the death of two boys aged 14 and 17 near the town of Toretsk, Donetsk region, on December 14. They were killed in an anti-tank mine blast.

On December 12, two children, 6 and 10, were injured in a Russian strike on Kherson city.

On December 15, a 16-year-old girl was injured in Russian shelling of Marhanets town, Dnipropetrovsk region.

A total of 3,126 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. 337 of them were completely destroyed.

As reported, on December 14, Russian invaders shelled Kherson, killing an 8-year-old boy and a woman.
