Russians launch artillery strikes on border areas of Sumy region, Chernihiv region

Russian troops have again launched artillery strikes on the border areas of the Sumy region and the Chernihiv region.

The relevant statement was made by the North Operational Command on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today [Russian] occupiers have opened fire on the Sumy region and the Chernihiv region seven times. The border areas were struck with artillery and Grad MLRS,” the report states.

Around 09:30 a.m., a total of 20 explosions were recorded near Vovkivka. Reportedly, Russians used multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). No losses or damage among the military personnel, equipment, civilians or civil infrastructure were reported.

Between 10:25 a.m. and 10.43 a.m., a total o 20 explosions were recorded near Khodyne. Reportedly, Russian invaders opened fire with self-propelled artillery. No losses or damage among the military personnel, equipment, civilians or civil infrastructure were reported.

A reminder that Russian troops left over 8,000 buildings damaged or destroyed in the Chernihiv region. Over 90% of them are the housing stock. Thirty-three bridges and crossings were broken, and over 1,100 kilometers of roads were damaged.
