Civilian and military: 83 graves already discovered in de-occupied territories of Donetsk region

Eighty-three burials have already been discovered in the de-occupied territories of Donetsk region – Lyman and Sviatohirsk communities – since the beginning of October.

"To date, we have recorded 83 graves: 33 are in Sviatohirsk and 50 in Lyman. Two of them are mass graves of civilians and military," Oleksandra Havrylko, the Spokesperson for the Donetsk region police, announced during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine–Ukrinform.

She also noted an increase in the number of appeals to the police from local residents in the de-occupied territories.

"We receive an increasing number of appeals in the de-occupied territories. Now, since the beginning of de-occupation, we have approximately 900 reports on administrative and criminal offenses filed by citizens. People apply for various reasons and various issues," the spokesperson said.

As reported, at the beginning of October, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Sviatohirsk and Lyman communities from the Russian invaders. It was recorded that the enemy had destroyed 80% of the infrastructure in the de-occupied territories. Moreover, 90% of residential buildings were destroyed or damaged in these communities.

As of October 27, according to the police, 268 bodies of the dead have been found, of which 146 have already been exhumed.
