Russia launches airstrike on Ukraine from territory of Belarus - General Staff

On the morning of October 6, Russia launched an airstrike on the territory of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

“This morning, four Tu-22M3 strategic aviation aircraft of the aggressor country launched an airstrike on the territory of Ukraine from the airspace of Belarus," Hromov said.

At the same time, he did not specify which settlement was targeted by an airstrike from the territory of Belarus.

Hromov added that the previous use of aviation from the Belarusian direction took place on August 28.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of October 6, Russian troops struck the center of Zaporizhzhia with S-300 missiles. Rescue operations are ongoing.
