Ukrainian forces destroy base of Russia’s Wagner Group in Popasna

Ukrainian soldiers have destroyed a base of mercenaries from Russia’ private military company Wagner in Popasna, Luhansk region.

Serhiy Haidai, the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine again successfully struck the enemy's headquarters. This time in Popasna, where a base of PMC Wagner was destroyed. The number of those killed is being clarified. At the same time, on the front line, the Russians are actively deploying attack and army aircraft - airstrikes were recorded in three populated areas," Serhiy Haidai said.

According to him, on the night of August 15, the enemy employed barrel artillery seven times. Russian forces shelled cities and villages four times with multiple rocket launchers, six times with mortars. Four tank offensives were carried out.
