Lviv paratroopers shoot down Russian Mi-24 helicopter

Lviv paratroopers shot down a Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter by Stinger MANPADS. In total, Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces have already downed 15 enemy helicopters.

"Yesterday, in one of the areas of mission execution, an air defense unit of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter by Stinger MANPADS," the press service of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

The video was released showing a Russian helicopter burning. This is the 15th Russian helicopter shot down by units of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces during the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As reported, from February 24 to May 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 26,350 Russian troops and destroyed 1,187 tanks, 2,856 armored personnel vehicles, 528 artillery systems, 185 MLRS, 87 anti-aircraft systems, 199 aircraft, 160 helicopters, 390 operational and tactical UAVs, 94 cruise missiles, 12 ships/boats, 1,997 vehicles and fuel tanks, 41 special equipment units. Over the past day, the enemy sustained the biggest losses in Novopavlivsk, Kurakhove, and Sievierodonetsk directions.
