War update: 207 combat clashes as nearly quarter of attacks concentrated on Pokrovsk and Huliaipole fronts
A total of 207 combat engagements were recorded along the front line on June 17, with Russian forces launching 47 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors alone.
According to Ukrinform, the information was provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its operational update as of 22:00 on June 17, published on Facebook.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been 207 combat engagements. The enemy carried out 54 airstrikes, dropping 173 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 6,035 kamikaze drones and launched 2,088 attacks on populated areas and our military positions,” the military said.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces conducted 60 attacks, including three using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched seven assaults near Lyman, Vovchansk, and toward Pokaliane and Izbytske.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions five times toward Novoplatonivka and Kurylivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attempts by Russian forces to advance near Derylove, Zarichne, Novomykhailivka, Novoselivka, and toward Drobysheve, Ozerne, Shyikivka, Lyman, and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces thwarted 11 enemy attempts to advance toward Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kryva Luka, and near Zakitne.
No offensive operations were recorded on the Kramatorsk sector.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 15 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, and toward Novopavlivka. Two engagements were still ongoing at the time of reporting.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces carried out 24 attacks. The invaders attempted to advance near Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Rodynske, and toward Bilytske, Dorozhnie, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Serhiivka, Muravka, Vilne, and Novopavlivka. Three clashes were still underway.
According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian forces eliminated 44 Russian troops and wounded another 15 in this sector. They also destroyed three ammunition depots, one UAV command post, seven vehicles, and three pieces of special equipment. Additionally, one UAV command post, six vehicles, two pieces of special equipment, four artillery systems, and 34 personnel shelters were damaged. A total of 310 enemy drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks toward Oleksandrohrad and Verbove.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces launched 23 attacks near Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zlahoda, and toward Huliaipilske, Hirke, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. Two engagements were still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped three Russian attempts to advance near Mala Tokmachka.
In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces conducted no offensive operations.
No significant changes were reported in other sectors of the front.
