Ukraine Army driving enemy away from Kyiv - Arestovych

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are driving Russian troops away from Kyiv, carrying out counterattacks in the Kharkiv direction and conducting tactical actions against the enemy's defenses in the Kherson direction.

Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, said this at a briefing on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"In the Kyiv direction, the enemy is conducting a partial rotation with the withdrawal of troops and their probable relocation to the area of the Joint Forces Operation. But they are not fully able to hold the areas they would like to hold to ensure this rotation. Our troops are driving them out, both in the northwest and in the northeast, sending them away from Kyiv, making it almost impossible for them to storm Kyiv again. We are liberating our lands. We are driving the enemy away," Arestovych said.

He also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting counterattacks in the Kharkiv direction and continuing tactical actions against the enemy's defenses in the Kherson direction.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
