New round of Ukraine-Russia talks underway in Istanbul

A new round of talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations has started in Istanbul.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the meeting is taking place behind the closed doors.

Following the talks, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, is expected to make a statement.

Before the meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the delegations he hoped for certain results from the talks and said Tukey could host a meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
