Russia’s ‘referendums’ in temporarily occupied territories will have no legal basis - MFA

Russia’s fake “referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine will have no legal basis and will face an even stronger response from the international community.

Spokesman of the Ukrainian Ministry for Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko said this in a statement regarding a possible so-called "referendum" on LPR’s accession to Russia, Ukrinform reports.

"Any fake ‘referendums’ in the temporarily occupied territories are of no legal validity and will have no legal basis," he said.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that no country in the world recognizes the forcible change of the internationally recognized borders of the Ukrainian state.

"Instead, Russia will facе an even stronger response from the international community, further deepening its global isolation,” Nikolenko said.
