Border guards of the Kyiv checkpoint have refused entry to Ukraine to a Russian video production director who had previously visited the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service has told Ukrinform.

According to the report, the director is a member of the film crew who arrived in Boryspil by plane from Istanbul on November 22. It was established during border control that he had previously illegally visited the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Given all the circumstances, the border guards refused to allow the foreigner to cross the border, banned him from entering Ukraine for three years, and sent him back to Istanbul on a return flight.

The State Border Guard Service recalled that according to the legislation of Ukraine, entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine is carried out only through certain entry-exit checkpoints.

According to the report, almost 7,000 violations of entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory have been revealed since the beginning of the year.

On November 19, Russian actor Kirill Grebenshchikov was banned from entering Ukraine for three years due to illegal visits to Russian-occupied Crimea.
