Ukraine’s State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure (Reconstruction Agency) and Business Ombudsman Council signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation.

This is said in a statement published on the agency’s website, Ukrinform reports.

“The Agency lays down equal conditions of access, transparent standards and procedures as a basis for business involvement in the implementation of reconstruction projects. We strive to build constructive cooperation with the private sector based on honesty, openness and trust. The memorandum consolidates our cooperation on these issues," said Mustafa Nayem, the Agency head said.

The parties agreed on cooperation in the implementation of state policy in carrying out projects/measures for the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure. The Council will contribute to improving the conditions for business involvement in the implementation of restoration projects and will work as a mediator in business relations with the state.

According to Nayem, the Reconstruction Agency will ensure the selection of suppliers of goods, works and services to restore the damaged infrastructure, following the principles of fair competition and clear allocation of resources. By using tender policies and procedures, this process will be efficient, professional and fast.

As reported, on March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a regulation on the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The document at the legislative level establishes agency’s powers, tasks and functions.

The Reconstruction Agency was created on the basis of the Ukrinfraproject and Ukravtodor agencies, which implemented projects in the road industry.
